Carta de Felipe II a Juan Cebrían de Ibarra.

LETTER SIGNED ("YO EL REY"), TO JUAN CEBRIÁN DE IBARRA, TREASURER FOR THE WILL OF THE EMPEROR CHARLES V, 

(in Spanish),

ordering Ibarra to pay out the forty thousand ducats that had been lent in 1532 for the war against the Turks in Hungary, by the 6th Duke of Medina Sidonia, scheduling the repayments over four years, half being payable to Leonor Manrique de Zúñiga (as guardian for Alonso, 7th Duke of Medina Sidonia, and his sister) and half to Don Pedro (for the niece), providing an immediate payment of two thousand five hundred ducats to Leonor, with the balances to paid by the end of August 1566, adducing documents supporting his order given by Charles V in 1532 (entrusting the money to Isabella of Portugal) and others tracing the ownership until 1556, and thereby confirming the initial executors' demand for this repayment made in 1560, 3 pages, folio (c.30.5 x 21.5cm), countersigned by Hernando Delgadillo and Francisco de Brasso, together with paraphs of five other councillors, Madrid, 15 November 1562.

 The twelve-year-old beneficiary named here, Alonso Pérez de Guzmán, 7th Duke of Medina Sidonia (1550–1615), subsequently became Commander of the Spanish Armada that attacked England in 1588.
